La Casa Toscana - Voted Top Again!

Grill magazine featured the country's best EVOOs in the Autumn issue. La Casa Toscana Frantoio was voted Best and the only one to be awarded 9/10 points. 'Beautiful green hue, aromatic, nice spice, full flavoured and a good pepper kick ... this oil compares favourably with Tuscany's best.'

La Casa Toscana is located on the outskirts of Akaroa, overlooking Takamatua Bay. Akaroa is a small historic French and British settlement nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano

La Casa Toscana is widely known by locals and visitors alike as ‘the gateway to Akaroa’. Planted upon a picturesque property in 2000, the olive groves are nestled against a valley of 20 acres with fresh water springs, ponds, streams and native woods. The development of the property is ongoing.

Sold in September 2007, La Casa Toscana is now home to Lionel and Gayle Sheridan with their ‘family’ of Irish Setters. The olive groves are being kept to ‘boutique’ size, this will ensure Lionel and Gayle can be involved in all aspects, from maintenance and harvesting through to marketing and selective choice of outlets and above all ensuring the consistent quality that is La Casa Toscana.
